| Mary Simmons; Glass Artist
I am passionate
about creating new and innovative fused glass art. I strive to
encapsulate beautiful and complimentary colors and textures into my
glass creations. Living in the Pacific Northwest, my glass art is
influenced by the beauty of the sea, nature, wildlife and our peaceful
surroundings.
It is my desire to create new, unique and
beautiful glass art. Collaborating with national glass artists who are
leaders in developing new glass art techniques, provides me with great
inspiration. Enveloping what I've learned into my own unique glass
visions helps me to push the limits with glass to create stunning and
amazing Glass Art.
I enjoy working with clients to create
glass art which compliments and highlights their own unique
architectural elements, design styles and price points.
In
addition to private commissions, my most recent notable pieces are my
Fused Glass Collections of Fused Glass Kites & Kayaks, Lighting, Glass pieces and tiles as well as Ornate Metal Wall Screens with Fused Glass elements.
My
studio was previously located in Woodinville, Washington, where I
worked primarily with Interior Designers. Creating glass art for the
Seattle Street of Dream's designers' provided an amazing catalyst
for Searose Art Glass.
Currently, I create glass art on a commission basis, as well as for select shows and fine art galleries.
Held annually on Mother's Day Week-End, the Camano
Island Arts Association, "Mothers Day Studio Tour", is my major annual
public event. Unique collections of glass art pieces to beautiful
lighting and wall art, all in numerous complimentary color and design
palettes are presented in my home studio. Customers can see
demonstrations of glass art in process, as well as purchase new glass
art pieces.
The Seagrass Gallery, of Camano Island has the
largest public selection of Searose Glass Art available for purchase,
or items may be viewed in my home studio by appointment.
“Summer on the Island”, a creative and stunning
collection of fused glass art, was on display in August and September, 2009, at Islander’s Restaurant located at Terry’s
Corner on Camano Island. This show was a colorful and unique mix of fused glass Kites, Kayaks, Wall Art and Lamps.
